A massive welcome to our new Centre Development Manager Lauren White who begins work at the John Smith Centre today.
Lauren joins us from the University of Strathclyde where she was the Senior Widening Access Outreach Officer, leading efforts to widening participation into Higher Education. She will be taking responsibility for our development programmes at the Centre as well and delivering our fundraising programme.
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the team here at the John Smith Centre, feeling very much aligned to its mission of breaking down barriers to politics, particularly with those from under-represented backgrounds, given my previous work within widening access and participation to Higher Education. I’m looking forward to getting straight to work on the various projects we’ll be launching as we move forward into the 2025-26 academic session – watch this space!”
Lauren’s arrival comes with the Centre expanding its operations and launching a host of projects into the 2025-26 academic year. We all wish Lauren the best of luck as she takes on her new job.
