**UPDATE 28/02/18: CONFERENCE CANCELLED DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER**
The John Smith Centre is delighted to announce that we will be hosting an Academic Conference on researching Public Service on Friday 2 March 2018 at the University of Glasgow.
The Conference is part of the Centre’s wider programme of work to improve our understanding of how the public thinks about public service and public servants and, in turn, how this relates to individuals’ willingness to take up public service roles.
The Conference will bring together leading scholars studying public trust, civic duty, specific and diffuse support, political participation and political engagement, public/policy administration and the public sector – all from across a range of disciplines and perspectives.
It will involve invited external speakers, Glasgow academics and students coming together in an informal setting to discuss what existing research tells us about the concept of public service and the ‘big questions’ that need to be addressed in future research.
If you would like to attend the Conference, please contact us.
